Mentoring in SWS | Our Mentoring Program | Mentor Bios

We are currently seeking women and men who will be committed to our mission of educating undergraduate women about investing.  Due to the instructional-focus of SWS, we hope that the Mentors can be reached for questions and advice pertaining to finance and investing.  We also encourage Mentors to be actively involved in the education program, particularly offering insight for the Investment Project. 

There are two types of Mentors that we seek:

• Industry Mentors: Industry Mentors are professionals that are knowledgeable in the industry that the students are learning about. For example, past Industry Mentors who have had experience in research firms covering healthcare companies have helped students who are interested in learning about the industry. Many Industry Mentors help teams analyze companies during the Investment Project, and further go on to serve as a resource for Research Teams.

• Professional Mentors: Professional Mentors are professionals that have been successful in various areas of business, and can serve as resources for our members in a variety of ways. Professional Mentors offer insight into questions about investing and finance or even career opportunities, and are available to answer questions about personal decisions related to these fields.

We expect our Mentors to be a resource for our members, but we also understand that many of our Mentors have full-time jobs and other commitments as well. Please look at our Mentor Program to see how our program works, as well as to access our guides for Industry and Professional Mentors.
