Investment Strategy | Become an Investor

The aim of SWS is to teach women how to invest real money in a real-life setting. To invest in the market, SWS receives donations from individuals who want to help women learn about investing and financial responsibility. Using these funds, SWS Associates and Analysts conduct their own research of domestic U.S. equities, talk to senior management, create research reports, and present their reports to the SWS Investment Board. The Board then makes the ultimate investment decisions after analyzing the presentation, the company, and the current allocations of the portfolio.

Because the main mission of SWS is education, SWS members do not retain any profits from the investments; rather, all capital gains are reinvested into the fund. In addition, ongoing training and interaction with SWS Mentors and Investors continue throughout the year. As SWS is completely managed by students, the volunteer efforts and financial support of Mentors and Investors greatly contributes to the success of SWS.
