Mahima Chawla '13 is currently pursuing a degree in Mathematical Economics at Brown. She was born in India and since then has resided in Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok and Sydney. She works on the finance team for the student-run newspaper, the Brown Daily Herald and is involved in organising a mentoring program for international freshman. She is also an avid scuba diver. Last summer she worked for Nomura and this summer she will be interning with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She has always been interested in the world of finance and is extremely excited about establishing SWS on the Brown campus while growing with the organization.

 

 

 

 

Cheryn-ann Chew '12 is pursuing a double degree in Applied-Math Economics and International Relations at Brown. Over the summer, she interned at Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation as an Equities analyst. She takes a keen interest in the markets and loves the intellectual challenges they present. When not hard at work, Cheryn-ann lets her hair down by doing sports, travelling and have a good time out on the town. A go-getter with a penchant for adventure, Cheryn-ann is always looking for new opportunities and experiences to learn and live. She will be working in New York with GIC (Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund) doing fixed income trading.

 

 

 

 

 

Theodora Liu '12 (chapter lead) was born in New York and grew up in Hong Kong most her life. She went to an all girls boarding school at the age of 15 in England and spent the last four years of high school there. She is passionate about traveling, golf and yoga. Theodora spent her past two summers interning at banks. She attended the Investment Banking Summer Training Program in JP Morgan and the Goldman Sachs Young Leaders Summit Program. Theodora was the pioneer of her high school calendar and raised more than $1000 pounds which she donated to SOS Children’s Village in Mbabne which she visited in summer 07. She was also the financial director of Young Enterprise Company. She will be interning in CLSA this summer under the supervision of the head of brokage, Helena Wai.

 

 

 

 

Cassandra Puhalla '11 is from Northeastern Pennsylvania and concentrating in Commerce, Organizations and Entrepreneurship at Brown. She has played field hockey for 11 years, 4 of which were spent on the Brown Varsity Field Hockey Team for whom she was a Tri-Captain her senior year. Cassie has been a co-director of Wigs for Kids at Brown, raising money for the American Cancer Society and was also a Relay for Life “team captain”. She is a Teaching Assistant for three engineering classes, “Engineers of the Future: Architecture of Dreams”, “Managerial Decision Making” and “Management of Industrial and Nonprofit Organizations.” Cassie is a 4 year Brown Athletics peer tutor in economics, microeconomics, and calculus, and a 4 year Tutor to Mrs. Polheimus’s 4th grade class at the Vartan Gregorian Elementary School at Foxpoint. Aside from finance, she has a special interest in the clean energy industry and hopes to one day incorporate this into her career. She will be working in JP Morgan after she graduates.


 

Rianne Webb '13 is a Commerce, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship concentrator in the Organization Studies track. She also is a sales associate for Brown Student Agencies where she offers local and national businesses an opportunity to advertise through on campus billboards. Rianne also volunteers with City Girls, a mentoring program for Providence middle school girls. At home in Germantown, MD Rianne works as a summer intern for the Montgomery County Public School system Department of Infrastructure and Operations and also worked as a legal assistant for a retail collections law firm. In her free time, Rianne enjoys yoga, watching movies, and cooking. She will be participating in the Commerce Organization Entrepreneurship sponsored international internship at Arshiya International, a supply chain and logistics corporation in Mumbai, India this summer.

 



Yingsi Zhang '12 grew up in Guangzhou, China, and moved to America at the age of 12. She is a double-concentrator in International Relations and Economics. At Brown, Yingsi is involved with the Class Coordination Board, Liber Brunensis (Brown's yearbook), and ChinaCare. She has spent the past two summers working to help local businesses in San Francisco, first with the Mayor's Office on Workforce and Economic Development, and later with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. During her free time, Yingsi enjoys swimming, playing the piano and guitar, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
